Jakarta, July 25, 2024 - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration – Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia officially launched the Golden Visa Program. By simply using Livin by Mandiri, all types of golden visas can be processed digitally and from anywhere.
The Golden Visa Program offers ease of investment for foreign nationals (WNA) in Indonesia with residence permits for 5 or 10 years. Foreign nationals can invest their funds in various instruments including state-owned banks.
Bank Mandiri becomes the first bank in Indonesia to provide integrated services from account opening to the issuance of the Golden Visa.
Bank Mandiri was chosen as the first partner for the Golden Visa partly because Livin by Mandiri can be accessed in 121 countries worldwide such as the UK, Netherlands, China, etc. Various investment product solutions are also available in Livin By Mandiri.
Rohan Hafas, Director of Institutional Relations at Bank Mandiri, explained that this cooperation will help foreign nationals to open a savings account using only a passport and Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS)/Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP)/Golden Visa through Livin by Mandiri.
“We are very enthusiastic about this cooperation because it will provide access for Bank Mandiri to offer convenience, security, and privileges in the Golden Visa application process. We will optimize the public services of the Directorate General of Immigration to attract foreign nationals to invest their funds in Indonesia. This way, the country's economic growth will also be supported,” said Rohan Hafas during the Golden Visa Inauguration event at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Mega Kuningan, on Thursday (25/7).
The official launch of the Golden Visa signifies Bank Mandiri's commitment to supporting national economic growth through significant foreign investment.
Thus, this cooperation can create added value for both parties and enhance the experience of using integrated banking and government services.
The bank with the gold ribbon logo explained that the Golden Visa program has the potential to drive sustainable growth in Bank Mandiri's third-party fund (DPK) portfolio in the future. The Directorate General of Immigration stated that the target for 2024 is to reach 1,000 potential Golden Visa applicants.
As of the end of May 2024, Bank Mandiri's total third-party fund (DPK) collection has reached IDR 1,296.1 trillion. This achievement increased by 12.9% year on year (YoY) supported by low-cost funds or current account savings accounts (CASA).
As an effort to reduce plastic waste, Bank Mandiri provides reverse vending machines (RVM) or plastic bottle exchange machines for recycling in several Bank Mandiri operational office points.
